Will You Get Approved?

Outside the banks, the yes-or-no is usually not decided by your credit score. It is decided by affordability — whether the money moving through your business can carry the payment you are asking for. That one fact reframes almost every question owners ask us, so this section answers them straight, including where the answer is no.

The four things that decide it

#What an underwriter asksWhat you can do about it
1Can the cash flow carry this payment?Size the request to your deposits. This is the most powerful thing you control
2Is the deposit pattern real and consistent? No negative days, no returned items, regular identifiable customers
3Is anything securing it?An asset, invoices or property loosens every other requirement
4Then — what does credit change?Mostly rate and term, not the yes or no

Our lending partners publish no minimum credit score on equipment financing and franchise financing, and floors of 550 on advances and receivables financing, 600 on a line of credit, 660 on a term loan and 675 on SBA, as of September 2026. Those are floors for consideration, not offers.

Checking costs your credit file nothing. Getting matched is a soft review. A hard inquiry only happens if you choose to move forward with a specific lender, and you are told before it happens. There is no fee to you at any point.

The straight answers

Including the parts that are usually oversold.

Already been told no?

A decline is one lender's credit policy, not a verdict on your business. Start with what to do after a decline, or go straight to options with damaged credit. If you would rather just get the file right first time, the documents checklist is the fastest hour you can spend.

Questions owners actually ask

Is there a minimum credit score for a business loan?
Not on every program. Our lending partners publish no minimum FICO on equipment financing and franchise financing, and floors as low as 550 on merchant cash advance and 600 on a line of credit, as of September 2026. On those programs the decision is driven by affordability — whether the cash flow in your bank statements can carry the payment — with credit affecting the rate and term rather than the yes or no. SBA is the other end of the scale at 675+.
Will checking my options hurt my credit score?
No. Checking is a soft review and does not affect your score. A hard inquiry only happens if you choose to move forward with a specific lender, and you are told before it happens.
What is the minimum file you need from me?
For most requests up to $250,000: a short application and your recent business bank statements. Above $250,000, expect a full financial review — business tax returns and financial statements as well. Equipment deals above $250,000 also involve the asset itself.
Can I get funded with no documents at all?
No, and anyone promising that is either misdescribing a low-documentation program or is not a legitimate lender. What genuinely exists is low doc: bank statements instead of tax returns and financials.
Does one decline mean I cannot get funded?
No. A decline is one lender's credit policy, not a verdict on your business. Different lenders have genuinely different appetites by industry, deal size and structure, and a request that one lender will not write can often be restructured into one that funds.
Do you charge business owners a fee?
No. Business owners never pay Goldspur Capital to apply or to be matched, and there are no upfront fees. We are paid by the lending partner when a deal funds.

Qualification floors on this page are our lending partners' published program minimums as of September 2026. They are floors for consideration, not offers, and each lender sets its own credit policy. Nothing here is a promise of approval. Program guidelines shown are our lending partners' published minimums as of September 2026 and can change. They are qualification floors, not an offer.
